Hey all!

Despite the coffee shop’s Internet being too weak to connect to my laptop properly, I am bringing this blog post to you from my iPhone. (Pretty sad, but whatever works, right?)

My birthday has come and gone in this past week. (…and no, I don’t feel any older. Thanks, but no thanks, for asking.) That day, I went to breakfast with the boyfriend, then I went to lunch with my friend, T. and had some sushi. It was a pretty good day. The day after, I went to lunch with my parents, and my sister and youngest niece showed up, also. The food was amazing, but the conversation was pretty awful (with one person, in particular). That afternoon, I went to play some D&D-5E with some friends; was treating to a chocolate-iced angel food cake with strawberries.

Damn, long-winded up there, eh?

*ahem*…anyhow, now I’m waiting here at my favorite coffee shop. Why am I waiting? What am I waiting for? My friend T. and I are going to have brunch today at 11. I’m excited. I was going to create some sets on Polyvore and try to create a video from Crab Festival, this year, but as I said, the wifi is shoddy and it was ticking me off.

Now I’m sitting here, finishing up this blog post, sipping on water, and listening to my Spotify playlist (currently listening to “Lies” by Marina and the Diamonds).

I hope y’all are enjoying your week (and summer), so far. Take care. Until next time! ❤ ❤

Sunday: Curse You, Adulthood Responsibilities!!

Hey friends!

Well, today is my bestie, B.’s birthday. That being said, she and I got together this morning with our other bestie, A., for some idle chit-chat and a tall bottle of mocha frappuccinos (our favorite). It was good to sit and catch up. Sadly, though, adulthood responsibilities caught up with me and I had to rush off to work — not only do I have to work on my bestie’s birthday, but it’s supposed to be super-sunny & warm all day today!!!!! 😦

I guess I shouldn’t really complain…I brought some more friendship bracelet supplies with me to make some bracelets for two of my coworkers. I gave my besties A. & B. theirs during our chat this morning. Now I need to give my sister hers, my coworker M. hers, and one to my friend E. Wish me luck!

Anyhow, I suppose that’s it for now. I’m tired; I haven’t walked in a couple of weeks, and somehow walking 0.9 miles from B.’s apartment to my workplace tuckered me out! I hope I’m able to get thru the day without losing my mind…or falling asleep.

Until next time, lovelies! ❤ ❤

Getting Crafty This Month & Good News

Hey all!

I know it’s been some time since I’ve posted anything here on my blog, and I apologize about that. This week has been kind of crazy. …don’t wanna get into it.

Anyhow, I have my best friend’s birthday coming up tomorrow, and so I was sitting at home thinking what I could give to her (something from my place), then it struck me that I haven’t really done anything pertaining to my friendship bracelets. A friendship bracelet for B.? With her two favorite colors? YES! Genius idea! […and that’s how it got started.] Today, while I’m working 8 hours (hey, it’s super-warm & sunny outside today; don’t expect many people to come in — don’t judge!) I will be making bracelets for my sister, my friend E., and a coworker. I’ll be working this pattern: Claireabellemakes DIY Spiral Friendship Bracelet

…I hope they like it. And I’m making them super-long so they can wrap the bracelet around their wrists more than once, and then secure it with a simple double-knot.

Now for the news:

My boyfriend got a call back from our local swimming pool to come in and start work on Tuesday at 9AM Monday at 9:30AM. So excited for him! I really hope he’s able to stick with this job; it’s stressful when you’re the only one with a job for a while…but anyhow………

Next (and last) piece of news is that I’ll be heading into the big city for four days in October for my grandpa’s big Naval funeral ceremony. I’m hoping to have at least one day to see some friends and go to the mall or whatever, seeing as how in my town we don’t really have many places to shop outside of WalMart.

Well, I guess that’s it for now. What are your weekend plans? Tell me in the comment section, below! Have a great day!

Until next time! ❤ ❤

(OH! …and in case you didn’t already know, the music video for “Bang Bang” by Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Jessie J. is OUT ON YOUTUBE!! Go watch it! It’s such a great video! Go on now…go watch!)

Crabfest, Upcoming Birthday, and New Things (Don’t Be Afraid to Leave Comments!)

Hey friends!

Our annual festival (Crabfest) was filled with less than we’ve had for the past decade; one entertainment company pulled out, and another stepped forward. The one that pulled out had the ferris wheel, the apple spin, and other rides of that nature. The one that stepped forward had bouncy-house-related activities. What wasn’t lacking at the festival was the food! Personally, I look forward to the “b-grade” sushi and the turkey legs, Filipino pancit (pahn-sit) and cheeseburgers from a local church’s booth. I got all the sushi I needed, got my one small dish of pancit, one cheeseburger, and split a turkey leg with the boyfriend. “What was the only thing missing?” You may be asking yourself…well, simple answer: the henna tattoo booth!!! It hasn’t been there for the past two years…maybe three, and I’ve been pretty sad about it. I try to get a henna tattoo every year during Crabfest.

My birthday’s coming up in about a week. Still got no clue what to do…or what I want for my birthday, gift-wise. I’ll be a pretty broke lady (paying bills on the 2nd) but I’m hoping maybe my friends will all get together and throw me a party or something. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I had one friend suggest that I post something on Facebook, like a party notification with invites, saying, I want to do….a-b-c-d-e-f-g. with then when/where, and leave it at that. I don’t know if I can or if I want to do that. I might just end up leaving it up to fate. Maybe I won’t do anything for my birthday. We shall see.

—  I finally figured out how to cook over-easy eggs!! For the longest time, I was super-impatient and that would leave my egg whites runny (yuck!), but now I know that I have to wait for the pan to heat up, and to cook the eggs over medium heat.
—  I also was able to snag one of my grandpa’s old toaster ovens from my dad. The boyfriend’s always wanted one, and so I figured it was about time that I get one for him. Best part: It didn’t cost a dime!!!!!

Well, I guess that’s it for now. I’m not reading anything currently, and I don’t really have any favorites to update. Sorry guys!
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Until next time!!

(Oh yeah, and I know I have quite a few followers now. Please, don’t be afraid to comment on my blog posts. I actually look forward to seeing what you all have to say, and will respond when I can.)

Car Update II & Damn Country Songs

CAR UPDATE Pt. 2: Let’s hope it gets done by this Friday, like the friggin’ stupid-@$$ guy at the shop said it’d be.

…and I hate country songs. Okay, well…I do love country music, but today was not the day to listen to it. The song I’ll Wait for You by Joe Nichols came on the radio, this afternoon; upon listening to the last line of this song, about the old lady who passed while her husband was on his way to see her on her deathbed and ended up dying before the husband got there, made me think of my grandmother. Now, my grandma passed in ’08, just after Christmas. Since then, I’ve never truly been able to enjoy the holidays, or rather, that holiday in general…yet I put on a smile for the rest of the family and fake it. There have been years where all I’ve wanted to do was stay at home and just hang out, semi-forgetting about what day it was. I haven’t been able to do so, and kinda hoped to get it out of my system, this holiday season.

My grandmother was the person closest to me in my family. Hell, she called me her “favorite granddaughter”. She was always there to talk to, tell happy things to, to use as a soundboard, or even to work out inter-family issues. She was also the best secret-keeper. No-one will ever equal her in how close our relationship was. I loved her dearly, and while she lived a long, happy, and fulfilling life, I still wish she was here for Grandpa’s milestone birthday, and the birth of her great-granddaughter (my niece). I really hope that the gods are treating her well, up there. She’s a sweet person, and deserves nothing but the best.

Okay, so now I’m getting a bit emotional…until next time, friends!

Hello friends!

On the 4th of this month, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary. Not hard to believe that so much time has passed since we first started dating, but I am so happy to have him in my life. I love him so much. Tomorrow, I’ll be with my family (dad, sister, niece, aunts and uncles) celebrating my grandpa’s 100th birthday. We’re all so thrilled (and none-too-surprised) that he’s lived this long. It’s funny, because he didn’t want to make his birthday into a big deal, but that’s what he’s getting (thanks to the rest of the family).

My boyfriend’s car is out of commission (blown head gasket), so we got a new one yesterday, and we’re hoping to get some help from neighbors and maybe even our landlord to get it replaced. I hope this happens soon, because he can’t afford to miss any more work.

Let’s see…I guess I should make a list of favorites for this month, huh? There won’t be many, but here’s a few:

My Recent Favorites:

  • Denali Dreams’ Fireweed Honey Lip Balm in Vanilla Pear (has lasted me longer than a year or two, maybe more…)
  • Clinique’s Glosswear For Lips Intense Sparkle (not sure of the color — sticker wore off some time ago)
  • Nestle Coffeemate’s peppermint mocha creamer
  • “Any Other Way” by Daneila Andrade
  • “Mother to the Moon” by Jason Myles Goss
  • “Tell My Mama” by Christina Grimmie
  • Watching my boyfriend play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Also, I got a recipe for you all to try. It’s super-easy, and it’s a great appetizer.

Seasoned Baked Potatoes:

3-4 russet potatoes, cut in half

cracked black pepper, to taste

garlic salt, to taste

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. While you wait for your oven to preheat, cut the potatoes in half. Then, take a butter knife and spread a thin layer of butter onto the flat side of the potatoes.
  3. Next, you’ll want to take your cracked black pepper and garlic salt and sprinkle that on top of the buttered potatoes.
  4. Place the seasoned potato halves, buttered-side-up, onto a baking sheet.
  5. Set the oven timer for one hour; this is how long it’ll take to cook the potatoes.
  6. Serve immediately. (You may add more butter, if you wish — just cut a lengthwise-slit into the potatoes and put a small pad inside.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Until next time!

Two Birthdays, One Weekend

Hey all!

So, this is going to be a short-and-sweet, really quick blog; get excited & be prepared…

Yesterday was my dad’s birthday. Myself, my sister, dad, his friend Pam and my niece Harper went to my grandpa’s for dinner (dad wanted to order food from this Chinese place, Peking Sizzler). It was great, conversation was good, and I had a lot of fun. (No pics…sorry.)

Tonight, Justin and I are going out dancing/drinking with a few friends for his birthday celebration (his birthday’s actually tomorrow, on the 6th). I’m pretty excited. We haven’t gone out in a LONG time! I can’t wait. …but BEFORE we go out, we both have work. (Damn life’s necessary evils!)

Anyhow, that’s all for now. Will talk to you all again probably sometime later this week.

Until next time…
