Job Side-Step & Upcoming Vacation

Hey all!!!

As of the past couple of months, I took a job side-step and started working in the post office attached to our grocery store — and I LOVE it!!! It’s way less chaotic, and we don’t get many disgruntled customers; it’s so laid-back and while, yes, there’s some heavy lifting involved, it’s totally fine. Now, was it a pay raise? No, but that’s all right. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: as long as you’re getting a paycheck, you’re in a good place.

In the next couple weeks, I’ll be [hopefully] taking a vacation in order to house/dog-sit for my friend who’s going on a cruise. Why am I taking a vacation from work? Well, one, because I need a freaking vacation; two, so that I can devote all my time to the doggo and not worry about having to go to/from work every day. I just hope I can get it approved, although, I’m pretty sure I’m already pre-approved from my manager in the post office.

During that time dog/house-sitting, I want to get back into a hobby I let fall to the wayside years ago; I want to get back into burning mix CDs for my friends. I can’t wait to see if I can make that a thing. That just requires a trip to Walmart — who’s currently in the middle of a store remodel — to see if I can track down some blank CDs.

Anyhow, that’s really all, for the moment. What’s going on with you guys? Anything fun going on for y’all, this summer? In the next month, I’m gonna be having a few friends come down for a visit, and I can’t wait to see them all.

Until next time! ❤ ❤

Hey all!

Despite the coffee shop’s Internet being too weak to connect to my laptop properly, I am bringing this blog post to you from my iPhone. (Pretty sad, but whatever works, right?)

My birthday has come and gone in this past week. (…and no, I don’t feel any older. Thanks, but no thanks, for asking.) That day, I went to breakfast with the boyfriend, then I went to lunch with my friend, T. and had some sushi. It was a pretty good day. The day after, I went to lunch with my parents, and my sister and youngest niece showed up, also. The food was amazing, but the conversation was pretty awful (with one person, in particular). That afternoon, I went to play some D&D-5E with some friends; was treating to a chocolate-iced angel food cake with strawberries.

Damn, long-winded up there, eh?

*ahem*…anyhow, now I’m waiting here at my favorite coffee shop. Why am I waiting? What am I waiting for? My friend T. and I are going to have brunch today at 11. I’m excited. I was going to create some sets on Polyvore and try to create a video from Crab Festival, this year, but as I said, the wifi is shoddy and it was ticking me off.

Now I’m sitting here, finishing up this blog post, sipping on water, and listening to my Spotify playlist (currently listening to “Lies” by Marina and the Diamonds).

I hope y’all are enjoying your week (and summer), so far. Take care. Until next time! ❤ ❤

So Many Things…

Hey all!

September was an absolutely chaotic month for me. The boyfriend left his job, and for three weeks after, he was struggling to find another job. I didn’t know how I was going to pay all of our bills. I was so stressed, it wasn’t even funny. Luckily, he did find another job and we’re so excited. He’s getting his first paycheck tomorrow and we’re super-stoked.

Oh! I got my checker (cashier) test, finally. I was so worried about my first day behind the checkstand, which was last Thursday (I believe), but it went fine, and everyone was so kind to me — I didn’t get any rude customers, luckily, and they were super understanding and patient. I’ve only tripped-up a couple times, so far, but I was able to recover quickly, and I’m so happy about that. I am sitting behind the checkstand again tomorrow, and it’s another sales day. I really don’t want to screw anything up. Although, one thing that I noticed was how freaking fast time goes by while checking. I almost missed my lunch break, at one point. Eek!

Anyhow, I guess that’s all for now. I guess I should say that I’m sorry for the disappearing act, but I would hope y’all understand.

Until next time! ❤ ❤

Little Bit of Everything & Job Progress

Hey all!

I’m so sorry for the recent inconsistency of my blog posts. I’ve dropped the ball, these past couple of weeks, and I could make so many excuses [mostly that I’ve been “too busy”], but I feel like y’all would call my bluff. I don’t know why I haven’t been on my game, and for that, I’m sincerely apologize.

In other news, I’m going to give you guys a couple of reference links. One of them is for my amazing cousin Solveig’s Life Coaching information. She’s such a light-hearted person, and gives such good advice. I’m glad to call her part of my family. If you need help with aspects of your life, I suggest you hit her up. Also, her blog is pretty good reading.

Next is my friend Katrina’s Chloe & Isabel Boutique. There are so many pretty items of jewelry there, for women and men, and it looks like they’ve also updated their stock to have home wares, hair accessories, and beauty products. Give that a gander; tell her Seana sent you.

Oh! I got some awesome work news! My boss called me into his office the other day, and [not that I ever get in trouble at work] but I thought I had done something wrong, because in my eyes, the boss’s office is just as scary as the principal’s office was, as a kid. Anyhow, I digress. My manager sat me down, and he started giving me praise about how sociable I’ve been over the past year that I’ve been working with them, and that he’d like to move me up from being a courtesy clerk to becoming a cashier! Holy crap, a cashier! Now, I did want to make sure that he’d work with me to keep my schedule the same; ie, same days off, same hours — I told him that I wouldn’t be available to work opening or closing, but any time in-between would be sufficient. Training for cashiering should begin sometime in the near future. I’m so excited!

Well, I guess that’s all for now. I hope you all have had a good week so far (yes, I know this is only the half-way mark, but still)…and I hope y’all have a fun & safe 4th of July, this coming Monday. Take care!

Until next time! ❤ ❤

A Few Things

Hey all!

First off, I have a new song for you all that I really hope you’ll take a listen to on Spotify. It’s called Sarah by Kate Miller-Heidke. It’s really pretty, and the story is kind of unique and haunting. Let me know if you listened to it, and what you thought.

Next, look at this:
coleslawjipperyfuckingkfc(Please ignore my dirty-looking thumb in the corner.) But seriously! I got this last night in my individual dish of coleslaw from KFC. Yes, I love KFC’s coleslaw normally (and I obviously ate this anyhow), but I felt like I got gypped on portion; it was like they took a small-medium ice cream scooper and just dished it in the container like that. It was so little! Usually these containers are nearly busting with content. Nope. Not this time. I was pretty disappointed, to say the least. —End Rant–

Anyhow, this past week went decently. Didn’t hang out with my mom on Mother’s Day (I had work super-early on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this week), so you know this girl was wiped out! I’m so excited for today though because my mom’s coming over and I’m making dinner. Can’t wait.

I hope y’all have had a good week. Sorry it’s kind of a “short-and-sweet” post…but that’s all I’ve got in me today.

Until next time… ❤ ❤

Thank the Gods It’s the Weekend!

Hey all!

This past week went by all right; nothing too terrible happened. Then yesterday came. I’m not going to get into too many details about this d-bag, but all I will say is this:
Please be kind to those in customer service.

Saying that, I know that encompasses a lot of professions, and all play a very important role. The old rule still applies that, “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Also, if you know that you “woke up on the wrong side of the bed” or “can’t handle people” one day, don’t make it a point to go out into the world and ruin someone else’s day with your piss-poor attitude; it’ll make other people feel uncomfortable as hell.

I had to get that out. Today, I’m hoping to hang out with my friend K. after she gets off work; maybe we’ll go get coffee or something. I just wanna hang out, considering that this time last week, I was a sad, sad excuse of the person I really am.

I ran into my acquaintance B.’s hubby, A., yesterday afternoon; he’d asked me when we were going to meet up for coffee next. Now, we’ve (B. & I) had been friends for a super-long time, but recently it’s become harder and harder to try to get together and hang with her…(again, not gonna get too deep into that drama). But I told A. that he should have B. call me, since I’m not sure when she and I will meet up for coffee. I’ve tried and tried, and she seems disinterested or “spaces on our plans”. I’m sick of trying, anymore.

I guess that’s all for now. Sorry to end on a sour note.

Until next time… ❤ ❤

*Unoriginal Title*

Good morning, good morning!

[Don’t let the greeting above fool you — I’m hurtin’ pretty bad, thanks to Aunt Flo. Girls, you’ll understand who/what I’m referring to.]

Anyhow, how are you guys doing? This week at work went by quickly, I feel. Weather-wise, it’s been pretty rainy, as per usual around here, but yesterday, it started off super-rainy, and then during the early afternoon hours, the rain let up, the clouds parted, and thus the sun was alive and shining bright. That was great!

Also yesterday…Aunt Flo, the beeotch that she is, showed up, and man, has she been taking out her anger on me.

Today, the weather is absolutely gorgeous — mostly sunny and 45°F (7.22°C). Yes, I know that for most people, that isn’t very warm, but it is up here in Alaska. I want so badly to go play in the sun, but I’m not feeling the best, still. I know it’s my day off, and I can technically do whatever I feel like doing, whether it’s being productive or super-lazy….so I’m gonna be figuring that out for the next few hours. Knowing me, I might not leave the house at all.

Anyhow, I guess that’s all for today. I hope you all had a good week last week, and I’m hoping this week is going well so far.

Until next time! ❤ ❤
