Not Just A Blurb

Hey all!

First off, let’s welcome back my friend Momma Tama, as she’s been MIA for some time, here on WordPress. Glad to see her writing again; please take the time out to read her most recent post, when you get the chance.

Thanksgiving was really good; the boyfriend and I had pizza for dinner, and then my mom brought over some leftovers (which only ended up lasting a total of two days). In the week leading up to Thanksgiving [in small-talk at work with customers], I made mention of my dinner plans, and one woman who comes in pretty regularly had quite the snarky retort, saying, “What, he [meaning my boyfriend] doesn’t cook?”
Now, a day after we had that interaction, I realized just how rude she was being, with that remark. Later on, a friend had made it known to me that maybe she wasn’t being a tart old ninny; maybe what she meant was that she was surprised that we weren’t having an extravagant traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. To be honest, we don’t have the means with which to be extravagant; that, and it’s just the two of us — we don’t need all that food…too many leftovers!! …so, that was a thing.

Coming out of Thanksgiving, things were all right. At work, things have been a bit crazy; this past Sunday was the worst. I was cashiering at the furthest express lane in our store, and was getting backed-up with customers in my line. Three times, I tried using my phone to call for extra cashiers; my phone was dead — there was nothing I could do, other than to tell the people in my line, “I’m sorry about the wait,” and, “thanks for your patience.”. A lot of people were understanding, but I was still stressed as all get-out. Now, mind you, there were two main-line checkers behind me, and they were swamped, too. I’d called back to one of them to call up our manager to help relieve the chaos, but she didn’t. It was the first time since I’d starting cashiering (a little over a year, now) that I’ve felt so helpless.
Yesterday went so much more smoothly; I got off work at 4p, hung out with the boyfriend for a bit, then went to take a nap because I was exhausted. This morning, I slept in till about 10:30a, and it felt so nice. I think soon I’ll need to put in for some vacation time; not really leaving the town of which I live, but allowing myself to get some errands done and just relaxing and letting my body recuperate.

So now, I sit here watching the boyfriend play Destiny 2 with our friend Z. and drinking some Swiss Miss hot cocoa. I hope you all are enjoying your week, so far.

Until next time! ❤ ❤

Hey all!

Despite the coffee shop’s Internet being too weak to connect to my laptop properly, I am bringing this blog post to you from my iPhone. (Pretty sad, but whatever works, right?)

My birthday has come and gone in this past week. (…and no, I don’t feel any older. Thanks, but no thanks, for asking.) That day, I went to breakfast with the boyfriend, then I went to lunch with my friend, T. and had some sushi. It was a pretty good day. The day after, I went to lunch with my parents, and my sister and youngest niece showed up, also. The food was amazing, but the conversation was pretty awful (with one person, in particular). That afternoon, I went to play some D&D-5E with some friends; was treating to a chocolate-iced angel food cake with strawberries.

Damn, long-winded up there, eh?

*ahem*…anyhow, now I’m waiting here at my favorite coffee shop. Why am I waiting? What am I waiting for? My friend T. and I are going to have brunch today at 11. I’m excited. I was going to create some sets on Polyvore and try to create a video from Crab Festival, this year, but as I said, the wifi is shoddy and it was ticking me off.

Now I’m sitting here, finishing up this blog post, sipping on water, and listening to my Spotify playlist (currently listening to “Lies” by Marina and the Diamonds).

I hope y’all are enjoying your week (and summer), so far. Take care. Until next time! ❤ ❤

As the Summer Sun Sets…

Hey all.

Let’s take a moment to savor the final days of shorts, tank-tops, beach trips, cold blended drinks, pool parties, and all things associated with the joys of summertime. As it stands, I’m at my favorite local coffee shop drinking a peach, pear, and apricot smoothie. It’s so good! Now, this [luckily] isn’t a “limited edition” thing, but I feel like I can only really enjoy smoothies during the summer.

I don’t know if I can fully appreciate the fact that fall is upon us. I don’t think the leaves are turning that quickly [which is fine and dandy, in my opinion], but I can already feel the temperatures starting to cool off. Not drastically, but just enough to make my skin prickle-up with goosebumps. Not ready for the cold weather.

I’m sitting here thinking about life, and all the changes I’ve gone thru in the past 5 years. Where has the time gone? Have I grown up? Am I an adult now? I feel like I’m still a child playing at being grown up. There are still so many things I need to learn; so many things I need to experience and learn from. I’m not against change, but I don’t necessarily like it, either…but I know they’re coming.

Until next time! ❤ ❤

Need to Get Back On Track

Hey all…

I don’t think I’m going to apologize anymore for late posts. If you are subscribed to any other bloggers, you’ll know (and hopefully understand) that life happens. We aren’t perfect; we can’t always stick to our schedules as close as we’d like to — though, we do try! Please cut us a bit of slack; we’re human too. …okay, rant over.

Anyhow, I’ve been sick with congestion for the past few weeks; it keeps lingering and won’t let go. Luckily — finally — I think I’m on the mend.

My cousin got married over the weekend; I couldn’t go due to work, but my dad and sister went and enjoyed themselves, which is good. I wish I could’ve gone, but it’s okay. I’m planning on going on a vacation to see family sometime in the near future, if my non-existent budget allows it. Speaking of money, our rent just went up by a couple hundred dollars — so freaking stressful!!! 😥😞😩

Anyhow, I hope there are still people who look forward to reading my new blog posts. I love you guys, and I love keeping it real with you. I appreciate your support and I really encourage any feedback y’all have to give.

That’s all for now. Until next time! ❤ ❤

Why, hello there…

I know I didn’t post anything on Tuesday — aka, “on-schedule”. Here’s why: I didn’t have any motivation.

Not only that, but because of the events that went down this past weekend, I couldn’t bring myself to say anything.

When I heard about Christina Grimmie being shot on Friday of last week, my heart broke. She was so talented; such a bright light in this world. She was one of my favorite musicians on YouTube. I send many wishes of peace to the Grimmie family.

To the families of the victims of the Orlando shooting, I send my deepest condolences.

With that all said, I think that’ll be all for this week’s post. I’m so sorry for the briefness of this post, but I can’t think of anything else to say.

Where I’ve Been…

Hey everyone.

I’m sure you’ve been wondering where I’ve been for the past week or so; I do apologize for not keeping up with posting when I should. Lemme explain…

Last week, my best friend/little sister N. was in town visiting for a week, so, many spontaneous trips were taken. AND we turned her on to Cowboy Bebop!

ALSO, my birthday was on Monday. The family, the boyfriend and I went to the beach and had a cookout. It was so fun. Hotdogs, hamburgers, bratwursts, macaroni salad, etc…(traditional cookout fare).

Anyhow, please tell me how your week has been! How’s your summer going so far? Also, comment down below if you’re still reading my blog posts.

Thanks so much for reading, and until next time… ❤ ❤

Bit of News!

Hey All!

First off, wanted to say that one of my favorite YouTubers, Adria (Don’t Be A Sad Panda) just hit 100,000 subscribers. To celebrate, she made a collage using the pics from her SnapChat fam and I was featured in that collage! (I’m in the top-left corner.)

Also, I made this awesome brunch with sautéed veggies, Parmesan cheese, and eggs.

Anyhow, short and sweet post. Hope you all are having an amazing week so far! Take care!

Until next time… ❤ ❤

(Btw, go subscribe to Adria’s channel if you haven’t already.)
