Hey all!

Despite the coffee shop’s Internet being too weak to connect to my laptop properly, I am bringing this blog post to you from my iPhone. (Pretty sad, but whatever works, right?)

My birthday has come and gone in this past week. (…and no, I don’t feel any older. Thanks, but no thanks, for asking.) That day, I went to breakfast with the boyfriend, then I went to lunch with my friend, T. and had some sushi. It was a pretty good day. The day after, I went to lunch with my parents, and my sister and youngest niece showed up, also. The food was amazing, but the conversation was pretty awful (with one person, in particular). That afternoon, I went to play some D&D-5E with some friends; was treating to a chocolate-iced angel food cake with strawberries.

Damn, long-winded up there, eh?

*ahem*…anyhow, now I’m waiting here at my favorite coffee shop. Why am I waiting? What am I waiting for? My friend T. and I are going to have brunch today at 11. I’m excited. I was going to create some sets on Polyvore and try to create a video from Crab Festival, this year, but as I said, the wifi is shoddy and it was ticking me off.

Now I’m sitting here, finishing up this blog post, sipping on water, and listening to my Spotify playlist (currently listening to “Lies” by Marina and the Diamonds).

I hope y’all are enjoying your week (and summer), so far. Take care. Until next time! ❤ ❤

Sun, Work; Rain, Relaxation [and Productivity]..?

Hey all.

Why is it that whenever it’s sunny outside, we have to work? And then, when it’s raining, we have our weekend? But let me explain; I like the sunshine, but I love the rain! I especially love it when it’s just down-pouring [not like today, where there’s a gusting wind accompanying said rain]; I also love it when I can hear the rain outside my window at night, as it helps sooth my mind and get me to sleep quicker.

Today, I woke up with a horrible backache; don’t know how it happened, but I’m thinking I may’ve slept wonky or something…so I sat on the couch in the living room and watched some YouTube and played some X-Com: Enemy Within. Then, I turned on Spotify’s “Rainy Day” playlist, unloaded the clean dishes from the dishwasher, put a dirty load in and started those, and finally made myself some lunch and decided to hop on the laptop to update some things.

As always, I hope you all have had a good week so far, and if you ever feel inclined to chat with me, leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time… ❤ ❤

Why, Hello Stranger! (Yet Another Catching-Up Entry)

Hey friends!

Well, this last week was full of me being kind of lazy (well, in the sense that I didn’t hit the gym once). However, I did bust my hump with work-related things and also with going on my walks. I ended up taking three walks last week! This week, I’ll be going to the gym (hopefully, if all goes to plan) tonight, tomorrow night, Wed. night & Thursday night. We’ll see; work can be an unforgiving place, sometimes.

Speaking of work, I have a couple of coworkers who will be out of town for most of next week, so I’m hoping to get their hours kicked my way. I always love getting pretty big paychecks; those always make me feel good! 😀

My aunt arrived in town yesterday afternoon for a short visit (she’ll only be here till tomorrow, sadly)…but luckily, we were able to sit down and chat a bit at our usual coffee spot soon after her plane landed. That made me feel really good, seeing as how during her last few visits were so busy [on her end] that we didn’t get the chance to catch-up.

I hope to get some good workouts in, today. Maybe one day I’ll prove to myself that the stair-stepper is not my nemesis, but rather, a means of challenging myself. [I still curse that thing like no other…]

Lastly, I have a few songs for you to find on YouTube:

  • “Water Fountain” by Tune-Yards
  • “Video Killed the Radio Star” & “Puttin’ On the Ritz” by Pomplamoose
  • “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor

Anyhow, that’s all for now. I hope you guys enjoy your Monday.
Until next time! ❤ ❤

Getting Back On Track

Hey all!

Well, I’m feeling way better than I was a week ago (stupid cold); that being said, I’m planning on getting back on track a little bit at a time. I’ve planned to go for a walk today, and have even invited my sister to come along with me. I hope she agrees. It’ll be good to catch up with her. I feel like we haven’t really caught up in about a month (conflicting schedules and all that). My only hope is that it doesn’t start raining…

Speaking of family, my niece is now walking!! Yes, she’s a little wobbly, but that’s not a big deal. She’ll get it down. My poor sister…once the little ones start walking, soon it’ll be running, then jumping, etc. I’m so excited though, because that means that my sister will now have a little walking buddy. ❤

The boyfriend and I went shopping this morning for groceries. I’m happy to report that we spent just $.07 over our budget. That made me so happy. We were even able to get some turkey burgers and bratwursts (the latter is what I’ve been having a hankering for over the past week, it being summer and all).

I’m thinking this next paycheck I get will go to music for my phone, and also a pedometer. I’m also going to get back onto MyFitnessPal; by the way, does anyone know what that trail-tracking app is called? Is it FitBit? (Please comment below and let me know.)

Well, that’s all for now. Take care, and I hope you all have a fun & safe weekend.
Lastly, what’re you guys doing for the 4th of July?

Until next time, friends!! 🙂

Catching Up…once again.

Hey all.

I know it’s been some time since I’ve posted. Let me just catch you up on a few things:

These past couple of days have been relatively busy; I’ve been helping my dad clean and paint his house to that it’s ready to be shown by his realtor. What’s up, you ask? Well, isn’t it obvious..? He’s moving. Don’t worry, though…he isn’t moving very far away. (Needless to say, I’ve been working my ass off!! It was fun though.)

I’d made Mother’s Day cards last week for my mom and my other adopted moms…they ended up being late, but they loved the cards, anyhow.

My boyfriend surprised me with the announcement that he’d be willing to give up one of his Dungeon & Dragons nights to play darts! That means he’s joining the dart league!!! I am one very happy girl!! 😀

Speaking of the dart league, this season just ended this past Saturday with the dart banquet. It was so yummy and there was so much good company! Gotta thank the local school cooking club for providing the dinner at the last minute!

Due to some issue with the bank, I ended up getting some extra money. Who isn’t happy about that kind of thing?!

I’ve been feeling inspired to be more artsy, thanks to going over to help dad with painting. (While at dad’s, I found some of my old artwork from college. Now I just need to find a big art portfolio to put ’em in…)

Book I just finished reading: Invisible by Carla Buckley
Book I am currently reading: Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway

I guess that’s it for now. Nothing left but to put down some new favorites:

  • “Frozen” — Yes, I know, it’s the latest hype and everyone’s probably sick of it by now, but I can’t help but love the songs “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build A Snowman?”.
  • …speaking of that last song…there’s a spoof cover on YouTube called “Do You Want to Go to Starbucks?”. Go check it out! You will laugh!
  • “Elders React” and “Teens React” on YouTube. (Thank Crystal!!)
  • Sunscreen!!! (SPF 15 on face and neck, SPF 70 on arms)
  • Small butterfly hairclips (Gotta pin the hair off my face somehow.)
  • “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele
  • “Human” by Christina Perri
  • American Pickers on the History Channel (…still not sure why I like these guys.)
  • Elder Scroll V: Skyrim (Unfortunately, I have to kill my Khajiit character due to glitches. Maybe I’ll be a dark or high elf…? What do you guys think?)
  • “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore
  • “The Walker” by Fitz & The Tantrum
  • New Starbucks Drink: Teavana Black Tea Lemonade (Seriously. If you guys haven’t gone out to try it yet, go do it! Do it now! Do it quickly!! Blarg!! <–said in a crappy Schwarzeneggar voice

That’s it for now, guys. Until next time!

…stay tuned for my “Summertime Bucket List”!!

What A Workout

Hi friends!

Well, it’s finally happened…my workplace finally got a small workout room put in; it’s downstairs in the lobby just outside of our racquetball courts. So last night after I got off work, I spent about 35 minutes doing a cycle of stretches, crunches, and a few push-ups, and then starting the cycle over again (all to my favorite “Chill Out” list on my 4th Gen. iPod Touch). It was something to do as I was waiting for my friend to come by and pick me up.
As I was working out, I came to the realization that I had made a “resolution” to be more active, and hadn’t gotten started on bringing that to fruition…so I told myself that I would work out after every shift at work. Since I work all this week, I figure this would be a good way to get started. My friend informed me that, “It’s really hard to stay motivated when working out alone.” I understand that this is a possibility, but I am focused and excited to see how this turns out. If I can stay on-track until June, I have no doubts that I’ll be able to stick with this till the end of the year.

There are a few pros and cons to doing this though…

  • Pro: I am alone — I can work out at my own pace, and to my own music.
  • Pro: Since I am alone, I won’t be comparing myself to others, or feel like I’m in competition with anyone else.
  • Con: There are MIRRORS down there — mirrors are not good for those who are working out. (Insecurities arise)

Okay, so that was two pros and one con, but I’m sure I’ll find more as I keep going.

I found that I slept better, also. That’s one thing that doesn’t happen often; usually it takes me a half-hour or so to fall asleep. So yes, I am more excited to work out more. I can’t wait to start seeing results. Mind you, I don’t like scales, but I guess it’s not that big of a deal, only because I don’t own one currently. I guess I’ll have to get another one, eventually. *le sigh*
Anyhow, that’s all for now. What was your resolution for the year 2014? (Seriously, I’m curious.) I guess at the end of this blog, I will include some of the songs on my “Chill Out” playlist. Until next time, everyone!

It’s October!

Hey all!

So yesterday, I had to get up at ass-o’clock in the morning to get ready to head to work at 9AM. As I may have stated before, I am NOT a morning person (unless I have copious amounts of coffee to drink to compensate for me getting up so early). So, I ran out the door after splashing on some eyeliner and eyeshadow (sorry, no pic to show at the moment) and a few sips of my boyfriend’s coffee to go with taking my vitamins. Now, I am sure you’re wondering why I had to get up so early; it’s because I had to supervise voting day for the municipal voting in my hometown. (FYI: I tried to blog about all this yesterday, but my computer at work is CRAP!) Then, I went to do some running around with my sister and 1.5-month-old niece, Harper. (She’s adorable.)

Today, my lovely boyfriend got me up at 8:30 because, well, he just couldn’t sleep anymore. So we got up, got some coffee, I watched him play some Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for the Xbox360, then after that, we got dressed and headed to our favorite coffee shop (shoutout to Harborside Flyby!). After this, we’re heading home and going to get something to eat and then I’ll be heading to darts. (Yes, in my town, I am part of a dart team. It’s pretty awesome.)

I tried getting my photos onto my new computer, but I had absolutely NO LUCK with it. It made me a bit sad, ’cause I promised my friend/former college art teacher that I’d take some/show ’em off on Facebook. Hopefully Justin (my boyfriend) will give me a hand with that.

I guess that’s a quick update on what’s been going on with me for the past day.

Umm….hmm…OH! I have some favorites to share with you:

So, yeah…now I guess that’s all. I know it was a bit long-winded, but I hope you all go and check out the favorites I mentioned. Have a great day! Until next time…
