Catching Up…once again.

Hey all.

I know it’s been some time since I’ve posted. Let me just catch you up on a few things:

These past couple of days have been relatively busy; I’ve been helping my dad clean and paint his house to that it’s ready to be shown by his realtor. What’s up, you ask? Well, isn’t it obvious..? He’s moving. Don’t worry, though…he isn’t moving very far away. (Needless to say, I’ve been working my ass off!! It was fun though.)

I’d made Mother’s Day cards last week for my mom and my other adopted moms…they ended up being late, but they loved the cards, anyhow.

My boyfriend surprised me with the announcement that he’d be willing to give up one of his Dungeon & Dragons nights to play darts! That means he’s joining the dart league!!! I am one very happy girl!! 😀

Speaking of the dart league, this season just ended this past Saturday with the dart banquet. It was so yummy and there was so much good company! Gotta thank the local school cooking club for providing the dinner at the last minute!

Due to some issue with the bank, I ended up getting some extra money. Who isn’t happy about that kind of thing?!

I’ve been feeling inspired to be more artsy, thanks to going over to help dad with painting. (While at dad’s, I found some of my old artwork from college. Now I just need to find a big art portfolio to put ’em in…)

Book I just finished reading: Invisible by Carla Buckley
Book I am currently reading: Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway

I guess that’s it for now. Nothing left but to put down some new favorites:

  • “Frozen” — Yes, I know, it’s the latest hype and everyone’s probably sick of it by now, but I can’t help but love the songs “Let It Go” and “Do You Want to Build A Snowman?”.
  • …speaking of that last song…there’s a spoof cover on YouTube called “Do You Want to Go to Starbucks?”. Go check it out! You will laugh!
  • “Elders React” and “Teens React” on YouTube. (Thank Crystal!!)
  • Sunscreen!!! (SPF 15 on face and neck, SPF 70 on arms)
  • Small butterfly hairclips (Gotta pin the hair off my face somehow.)
  • “Set Fire to the Rain” by Adele
  • “Human” by Christina Perri
  • American Pickers on the History Channel (…still not sure why I like these guys.)
  • Elder Scroll V: Skyrim (Unfortunately, I have to kill my Khajiit character due to glitches. Maybe I’ll be a dark or high elf…? What do you guys think?)
  • “Ain’t It Fun” by Paramore
  • “The Walker” by Fitz & The Tantrum
  • New Starbucks Drink: Teavana Black Tea Lemonade (Seriously. If you guys haven’t gone out to try it yet, go do it! Do it now! Do it quickly!! Blarg!! <–said in a crappy Schwarzeneggar voice

That’s it for now, guys. Until next time!

…stay tuned for my “Summertime Bucket List”!!

Sleep or Clean? That is the question…

Hey all!

I know it’s been a bit since my last blog post; been hermiting (again) and kind of doing a mix of reading and playing video games. What have I been reading? It’s the second book in the Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray called “Rebel Angels”. It’s a long read (500-something pages long), but it’s a good story, and I intend to finish it before the end of this month and pick up the last one at the library. As to what I’ve been playing lately on my XBox 360, well, that’s been Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. My boyfriend told me to create my own character since I’d been playing on his here-and-there. (I was a level 20 Khajiit, before two of my favorite characters in Whiterun got killed by vampires…I guess it’s because I hadn’t done the Dawnguard quest yet that they got killed. If you play Skyrim, you know what I’m talking about.)

So last night, my boyfriend and I had a friend over to just hang out and catch-up with; we don’t see this person very often due to conflicting schedules…such is life. We stayed up till 2:30AM just chatting away before we took her home, and man, am I exhausted! I may be on break at work right now, but all I wanna do is go home and sleep. Only problem with that: I also feel like the cleaning bug bit me, and thus I have a conundrum…do I sleep, or do I clean?

Before I leave you guys, I have a question: Do you like to play music while you clean? I do, and I like it loud; it’s a motivational tool for me, I feel. 🙂

Until next time!

Seana’s Song of the Month: “I’m Only Human” by Christina Perri

Hello friends!

On the 4th of this month, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary. Not hard to believe that so much time has passed since we first started dating, but I am so happy to have him in my life. I love him so much. Tomorrow, I’ll be with my family (dad, sister, niece, aunts and uncles) celebrating my grandpa’s 100th birthday. We’re all so thrilled (and none-too-surprised) that he’s lived this long. It’s funny, because he didn’t want to make his birthday into a big deal, but that’s what he’s getting (thanks to the rest of the family).

My boyfriend’s car is out of commission (blown head gasket), so we got a new one yesterday, and we’re hoping to get some help from neighbors and maybe even our landlord to get it replaced. I hope this happens soon, because he can’t afford to miss any more work.

Let’s see…I guess I should make a list of favorites for this month, huh? There won’t be many, but here’s a few:

My Recent Favorites:

  • Denali Dreams’ Fireweed Honey Lip Balm in Vanilla Pear (has lasted me longer than a year or two, maybe more…)
  • Clinique’s Glosswear For Lips Intense Sparkle (not sure of the color — sticker wore off some time ago)
  • Nestle Coffeemate’s peppermint mocha creamer
  • “Any Other Way” by Daneila Andrade
  • “Mother to the Moon” by Jason Myles Goss
  • “Tell My Mama” by Christina Grimmie
  • Watching my boyfriend play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Also, I got a recipe for you all to try. It’s super-easy, and it’s a great appetizer.

Seasoned Baked Potatoes:

3-4 russet potatoes, cut in half

cracked black pepper, to taste

garlic salt, to taste

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. While you wait for your oven to preheat, cut the potatoes in half. Then, take a butter knife and spread a thin layer of butter onto the flat side of the potatoes.
  3. Next, you’ll want to take your cracked black pepper and garlic salt and sprinkle that on top of the buttered potatoes.
  4. Place the seasoned potato halves, buttered-side-up, onto a baking sheet.
  5. Set the oven timer for one hour; this is how long it’ll take to cook the potatoes.
  6. Serve immediately. (You may add more butter, if you wish — just cut a lengthwise-slit into the potatoes and put a small pad inside.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Until next time!
