Rain, Rain…

Rain, rain, come and stay.
I will waste the day away.
Playing video games,
And drinking cocoa,
And spending time with the one I love.

Rain, rain, come and stay.
So I am not tempted to play
Outside where the leaves are dying,
And all the season’s colors, so drab.

Rain, rain, come and stay,
So I can hide inside
And be productive inside my house;
Cleaning or doing personal projects.

Rain, rain, go away.
I wish to play outside today.
You’ve overstayed your welcome,
And now you’re making me blue.
Dear sky, I don’t want to cry with you.

Hello friends!

On the 4th of this month, my boyfriend and I celebrated our 2-year anniversary. Not hard to believe that so much time has passed since we first started dating, but I am so happy to have him in my life. I love him so much. Tomorrow, I’ll be with my family (dad, sister, niece, aunts and uncles) celebrating my grandpa’s 100th birthday. We’re all so thrilled (and none-too-surprised) that he’s lived this long. It’s funny, because he didn’t want to make his birthday into a big deal, but that’s what he’s getting (thanks to the rest of the family).

My boyfriend’s car is out of commission (blown head gasket), so we got a new one yesterday, and we’re hoping to get some help from neighbors and maybe even our landlord to get it replaced. I hope this happens soon, because he can’t afford to miss any more work.

Let’s see…I guess I should make a list of favorites for this month, huh? There won’t be many, but here’s a few:

My Recent Favorites:

  • Denali Dreams’ Fireweed Honey Lip Balm in Vanilla Pear (has lasted me longer than a year or two, maybe more…)
  • Clinique’s Glosswear For Lips Intense Sparkle (not sure of the color — sticker wore off some time ago)
  • NO SNOW ON THE GROUND!
  • Nestle Coffeemate’s peppermint mocha creamer
  • “Any Other Way” by Daneila Andrade
  • “Mother to the Moon” by Jason Myles Goss
  • “Tell My Mama” by Christina Grimmie
  • Watching my boyfriend play Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Also, I got a recipe for you all to try. It’s super-easy, and it’s a great appetizer.

Seasoned Baked Potatoes:

3-4 russet potatoes, cut in half

butter

cracked black pepper, to taste

garlic salt, to taste

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. While you wait for your oven to preheat, cut the potatoes in half. Then, take a butter knife and spread a thin layer of butter onto the flat side of the potatoes.
  3. Next, you’ll want to take your cracked black pepper and garlic salt and sprinkle that on top of the buttered potatoes.
  4. Place the seasoned potato halves, buttered-side-up, onto a baking sheet.
  5. Set the oven timer for one hour; this is how long it’ll take to cook the potatoes.
  6. Serve immediately. (You may add more butter, if you wish — just cut a lengthwise-slit into the potatoes and put a small pad inside.)

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Until next time!

It’s October!

Hey all!

So yesterday, I had to get up at ass-o’clock in the morning to get ready to head to work at 9AM. As I may have stated before, I am NOT a morning person (unless I have copious amounts of coffee to drink to compensate for me getting up so early). So, I ran out the door after splashing on some eyeliner and eyeshadow (sorry, no pic to show at the moment) and a few sips of my boyfriend’s coffee to go with taking my vitamins. Now, I am sure you’re wondering why I had to get up so early; it’s because I had to supervise voting day for the municipal voting in my hometown. (FYI: I tried to blog about all this yesterday, but my computer at work is CRAP!) Then, I went to do some running around with my sister and 1.5-month-old niece, Harper. (She’s adorable.)

Today, my lovely boyfriend got me up at 8:30 because, well, he just couldn’t sleep anymore. So we got up, got some coffee, I watched him play some Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for the Xbox360, then after that, we got dressed and headed to our favorite coffee shop (shoutout to Harborside Flyby!). After this, we’re heading home and going to get something to eat and then I’ll be heading to darts. (Yes, in my town, I am part of a dart team. It’s pretty awesome.)

I tried getting my photos onto my new computer, but I had absolutely NO LUCK with it. It made me a bit sad, ’cause I promised my friend/former college art teacher that I’d take some/show ’em off on Facebook. Hopefully Justin (my boyfriend) will give me a hand with that.

I guess that’s a quick update on what’s been going on with me for the past day.

Umm….hmm…OH! I have some favorites to share with you:

So, yeah…now I guess that’s all. I know it was a bit long-winded, but I hope you all go and check out the favorites I mentioned. Have a great day! Until next time…
